Soukka is characterised by its proximity to the sea and its glorious natural setting. Soukankaari is around 25 minutes from Helsinki by car and even by bus the journey is only a little over half an hour. Once the western extension of the Helsinki metro is completed, using public transport will be even more flexible. Local everyday services can be found very close at Soukka shopping centre. The library, several day care centres and a primary school can also be found in the neighbourhood. The nearest lower and upper secondary school is in Espoonlahti. A more comprehensive range of services is available in Lippulaiva, Espoonlahti, or Iso Omena, Matinkylä.
